Hi, I’m Alison a Certified Havening Practitioner, Registered Counsellor and Certified Neuro-Sequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) Practitioner, trainer, course creator and conference presenter living in beautiful Brisbane, Queensland.
I am honoured to work with parents, teens and adults specifically in the areas of trauma recovery and Therapeutic Parenting. Havening has added such a valuable methodology to my areas of work allowing clients to heal and recovery more quickly from the trauma they have experienced. It has proven invaluable in helping parents of traumatised children manage their stress and ‘hot buttons’ where the parent reacts rather than responds. In fact, all my clients gain from the benefit of Havening through building resilience – which in turn helps them be the person they hoped to be and want to be.
Havening has complimented my other skills in Counselling, mentoring and coaching so that clients become emotionally stronger, increase their own self-awareness and eliminate anxiety, trauma reactions and many other issues that arise during their work with me.
I am also the Director of Hope Consulting & Counselling based in Brisbane servicing clients throughout Australia and internationally. My areas of expertise is built on neuroscience, brain development and neuro-plasticity – how the brain develops, connects and can change. As Havening is based in neuroscience it was a natural progression to add Certification to my suite of expertise. I work with families to facilitate the recovery of children experiencing expressions of Developmental Trauma or struggles with managing their emotions, friendships, social groups, family lives or education. The Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) assessment, recommendations and family support forms the basis of this work. Compassion Fatigue recognition and recovery for caregivers forms part of my counselling practice. Havening is offered to all clients regardless of the initial issue they sought help with.
I am a biological and Foster Parent with significant lived experience with Developmentally Traumatised children and holds additional qualifications in Disability, Community Services and Youth Work.
